As an educational psychologist, Mary Gwaltney provides educationally-relevant assessment, counseling, training, and consultation to families of children with special needs. Psychoeducational assessments and Independent Educational Evaluations are thorough assessments of academic, motor, cognitive, visual, visual-spatial, auditory, attention/executive, memory, social, behavioral, functional, and emotional skills that contribute to success or struggles in the school setting. Consultations available to parents to review previous assessments, IEP’s, program designs, and to make recommendations about appropriate interventions. Social skills training groups include cognitive behavioral interventions to manage social stress and anxiety, as well as teasing or negative feedback from peers.Groups are not Alta funded, but are available as a fee-for-service program in conjunction with Anne Shideler, MFT.
